The Installation of Officers was held on July 29,
2006. We had many important dignitaries from District 12.
We shared the day with our sister Post 358 while their new post was
being renovated. |

July 30, 2006: Members of the community and distinguished guests joined us as we celebrated our 22nd Post Charter Day. We unveiled and dedicated our "Wall of Remembrance" honoring those members of our Post who since our charter day in 1984 have been reassigned to Post Everlasting. Post Charter Day will now become an annual event to be celebrated on the last Sunday of July. It was a wonderful event that makes us proud to be a part of Post 318. Kudos goes to 1st Vice Commander Frank Howard for all his hard work that went into making the Wall of Remembrance a reality. |

The Commander's Recognition Dinner was held on August 13, 2006. Commander Daryl Bowie recognized the many volunteers from the past year. Babe Garneau was awarded the white eagle statue naming him the volunteer of the year. This event highlighted the fact that we have the best team of volunteers on the Treasure Coast. Our Honor Guard presented our Legion Riders with the American Legion Riders flag as a way of saying thank you for all the support they give to us. Madam President, Sunny Lavallee presented Commander Bowie a WWII artifact for the post. |

On September 3, 2006 we held a Labor Day clam bake picnic. Despite a little rain everybody pitched in to help or just have a grand time. Mattie Kelly, our Auxiliary's Chaplin was Post Member of the Month. |

We at Post 318 have a very active Canteen. We have a lot of fun but our goal is never far from our minds. "Be thankful for all the things we have and the good things we can do for others." |

September 9, 2006. We wanted a pleasant, peaceful place to sit
and reflect. A place we could hold events at. A place we
could be proud of. So with Robin Burk's direction we began the
construction of the Memorial Garden. It was built in the area
west of the Post. If you have not seen the garden with the
flags blowing in a gentle breeze, please plan to attend an event
there. |
